Summer is officially blooming and we have been run off our feet creating beautiful bespoke hand made rugs and carpets for outside and in.
A soft seating area is the perfect place to relax and soak up the rays and who wouldn’t love a hand woven rug underfoot. We offer an extensive number of shades within our outdoor range of water and fade resistant yarns and for indoors, well the possibilities are endless! This summer we have found that shades of blue with gold or bronze have been a popular choice.
We love lustrous hand tufted silk and bamboo in metallic shades but we also offer metallic thread if you’re after that extra sparkle. This works really well looped into wool or silk, our top picks this season are shades of bronze and copper and these look amazing with this summers trend for blues and greys.
When creating a bespoke rug or carpet, the process really is exciting. Usually a client will produce something that has inspired them, which could be a piece of fabric, a photograph or a painting. We then work closely to match the colours, and create artwork. Next the yarn is dyed to match the brief and the sampling process begins. Once the samples are signed off, the rug itself is hand tufted, which usually takes 10-12 weeks. It’s an inspiring process and no two rugs are ever the same, we love what we do!
