Inspired by the ancient Callanish Stones, erected in 2,693BC, nearly 5,000 years ago, the Callanish Tartan reflects the timeless grandeur and haunting beauty of The Stones.
Commissioned by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 16th March 2010, the Callanish Tartan was born when Malcolm the weaver enchanted Her Majesty with tales of Scottish wool, Harris Tweed and Scotland’s rich textile and tartan heritage.
The team at Concept Hand Tufting have worked with Malcolm to bring this tartan to the floor, using their unique expertise gained from 5 generations of heritage in the textile industry.
Its tones are elegant and exquisite for the most modern residence, yet rugged and timeless for a stately home, luxury hotel or for an historic castle.
The tartan design can be installed fully fitted wall to wall; or with a border added for a timeless area rug or sophisticated stair runner. A full measure and install service is also available.
